Not every installation requires notching the center of the floor brace.  However, when the transfer case on this Dodge 4WD was moved back for the installation of the Dual Range, a couple of floor ribs needed to be notched slightly for extra clearance.  Since only a small center section of the rib is removed, the structural integrity of the floor will not be affected.
